Song Bio

In “BELIEVE ME,” Lil Uzi Vert reiterates to a woman to trust that their career will last long without her — not hesitant to admit they have a replacement. The highly anticipated track was first previewed through Uzi’s Instagram story on April 14, 2017. It was originally expected to land on his then upcoming album Luv Is Rage 2, but ultimately didn’t make the cut. After a few more previews, the song’s status went cold until mid-2021 when a fan in an Instagram group chat asked Uzi if they still had the song, to which they said yes. “BELIEVE ME” released only on SoundCloud and omitted from streaming platforms likely due to the sampling of a song called “Sesame” made by a Bulgarian rock group in 1987.

This song only released exclusively on SoundCloud when Uzi dropped the “RED & WHITE” EP before “Pink Tape” in 2022. But the song was shortly removed after which means now it is no longer on SoundCloud or Spotify but is a genuine fucking banger. If you can find a file of this I recommend grabbing it on local files since this is probably one of the most creative sample flips I’ve ever heard in rap and the outstanding Uzi performance makes this song literally feel like it’s on fire. This song is probably my favorite in Lil Uzi’s career, I think it is a genuine grail in his unreleased library, the lyrics and just Uzi talking like he’s hungry is always so refreshing in a rap scene that’s been struggling in the past few years.
